Expression installation, Glasgow, 2006

Murdo MacLeod

£55.00

In July 2006, shortly after Murdo Macleod took this photograph, Glasgow’s magnificent Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum reopened following a £27.9 million makeover. This display, by exhibition designer Sophy Cave [scdesign.me], of dozen of white, sculpted “floating” heads, all pulling different faces, was installed in the Baroque east court of the Expression wing – where it still hangs today. Macleod lay in wait for a member of staff to descend the stairs at exactly the right spot, and he had his picture. It is all the more amusing for being un-staged.
